About
Who writes this, and why
NearMeWigs exists to answer one question well: which wig should you buy, given how you actually plan to wear it. That's it. We don't sell anything here.
There is no shortage of wig content online. Most of it falls into two piles — product grids with no guidance, and long articles that circle the topic without ever telling you what to do. Both leave you in the same place: scrolling listings, guessing at density numbers, hoping.
So we built this the other way round. Start with your situation, work through the four or five decisions that actually matter, and end with a concrete spec you can shop against — plus the reasoning, so you can disagree with it intelligently.
The people
Tasha Bell is a wig-fitting consultant and writes most of the fit, cap, comfort and first-wig material here. If a page is about whether something will physically work on your head, it's hers.
The buying guides, comparisons and style pages are written by the same small editorial team, reviewed against the actual product catalogue before publishing. Where a page touches on health — hair loss, treatment, scalp sensitivity — we keep to what we can reasonably speak to, and say plainly when something is a question for a doctor or a dermatologist instead.
What we won't do
- We don't publish a page just because a keyword looks winnable. Every page here has to answer a question someone genuinely asks and end with a decision they can act on.
- We don't invent statistics. If we say something is common, it's because we've seen it come up repeatedly — not because a number made the sentence sound better.
- We don't recommend a wig a page can't back up. If a style doesn't have enough matching stock to recommend honestly, we don't build the page at all.
The commercial part
The wigs we recommend are sold by SoftWig, which is ours. We've put that on the homepage, in the footer, on Tasha's page and here, because a recommendation is worth less if you don't know where it points. The full version is on our commercial disclosure page.
If you've already bought
This site is deliberately about the decision before the order. If you already own a wig and something's wrong with it — shedding, tangling, a smell, lace that won't sit — that's a different job, and our sister siteBestWigStyles works through those problems specifically.
